Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our sustainable diamonds and jewellery
Jewellery
I cannot find my ring size on the website. What can I do?
If your ring size is not in the available stock, we will gladly customise your ring for you. You just need to contact our team at pedidos@davidlocco.com. Your ring will be made within a maximum of 30 days. The ring will have the same retail price, regardless of its size.
Can I repair my piece of jewellery?
By following the appropriate care guidelines, your David Locco pieces will remain in perfect condition for much longer. However, if your piece has lost its original state and requires maintenance, please contact us at pedidos@davidlocco.com using the following format, and we'll help you find the best solution:
- Email subject line: "Repair + contact person's name"
- Attach a photo showing the imperfection
- Include your phone number in case we need to contact you directly
All repairs are free of charge within 30 days of the jewellery purchase. Repairs outside this period can also be carried out for an additional fee: you can enquire about pricing by emailing pedidos@davidlocco.com.
How do I take care of my jewellery?
Diamonds are exceptionally sophisticated stones, yet they also possess extreme hardness: as such, they only require basic care to prevent damage or breakage. Avoid wearing your jewellery while carrying out tasks involving corrosive substances, or when there's a risk of rubbing or knocking it against other objects that may cause harm. Ideally, store each piece in its original box, properly protected to avoid contact with other items. To clean your diamond, we recommend simply using a soft cloth, avoiding contact with chemicals, cosmetics, and abrasive products.
Shipping
What are the shipping costs for an order?
Shipping costs are covered by David Locco, so there is no charge to the customer.
Which countries do we ship to and what is the delivery time for an order?
We offer international shipping for our jewellery. For Spain and other European countries, if the piece is in stock, delivery takes between 1 and 2 days. For shipments outside Europe, please contact pedidos@davidlocco.com. Our response time is very fast.
Can the order be shipped to someone else?
Yes. You only need to give us the shipping details of the person receiving the jewellery.

How do I process a return?
You can process a refund by writing an email at pedidos@davidlocco.com.

My Order
Can I cancel my order?
Yes. To cancel your order you must write an email at pedidos@davidlocco.com before the order has been shipped.
How do I check the status of my order?
To check the status of an order from your account, the purchase must have been made while logged in, as it is not possible to track orders placed as a guest.
In the order confirmation email, you'll find an order number that allows you to temporarily track the status of your order. Order tracking will depend on the shipping company handling the delivery.
Order cancellation by David Locco
In the event of a specific piece being out of stock or unavailable, David Locco will contact you to offer an alternative delivery date or to cancel the order.
Payment and Financing Methods
What payment methods are available?
Payments can be made by credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express), Shopify Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. If you wish to pay by bank transfer or PayPal, please contact pedidos@davidlocco.com.
How does Klarna financing work?
Klarna offers flexible payment options for your purchase, including 'Pay in 3 instalments' and 'Financing'. With 'Pay in 3 instalments', the cost of your purchase is split into three equal, interest-free payments: the first is charged at the time of purchase, and the remaining two every 30 days. The 'Financing' option allows you to pay in fixed monthly instalments over a longer period, with interest applied.
If the purchase amount exceeds €1,000, is any documentation required?
No, no additional documents are required.

Quality Assurance
Quality certificates
All diamonds created in our laboratories are certified by the IGI (International Gemological Institute), making us the first global brand of sustainable diamonds to receive this certification. To grant this certification, the Institute meticulously examines each gem after it has been polished by our team of experts.
This ensures its complete authenticity, quality, and purity. Each piece is accompanied by a certificate that clearly outlines, both in writing and visually, the diamond's main characteristics: including its clarity, colour, proportions, symmetry, finish, shape, size, and weight. David Locco guarantees the beauty of its diamonds and offers free technical advice to help maintain the shine of the metal.
Lab Grown Diamonds
What are they?
Lab grown diamonds are diamonds created artificially in a controlled environment, replicating the natural conditions under which diamonds form in the Earth's mantle. They have the same chemical composition, crystal structure, and physical properties as mined diamonds.
How are they made?
To create lab grown diamonds there are two main methods:
- HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature): replicating the high pressure and temperature conditions under which diamonds form in the Earth's mantle.
- CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition): carbon vapour is deposited in a vacuum chamber onto a diamond 'seed', allowing the diamond to grow layer by layer.
David Locco creates their lab grown diamonds using only the HPHT method in specialised labs.
Are they real diamonds?
Yes, they are real diamonds. They have the same optical, physical and chemical properties as a mined diamond. The only difference is in their origin: one is created in a lab, the other in nature.
What is the difference between a lab grown diamond and a mined diamond?
None, except its origin. Their chemical composition and physical properties are identical, but one is created in a lab while the other is created naturally.
Lab grown diamonds have a smaller environmental impact than mined ones, due to the latter resulting in the negative environmental and personal effects of traditional mining.
Can they be distinguished from mined diamonds?
To the naked eye and even under a jeweller's magnifying glass, they are indistinguishable. Only with specialised equipment (such as spectroscopy or X-ray analysis) can the origin be identified through certain internal traces or growth patterns. Gemological certificates will state whether a diamond is lab-grown.
Are they sustainable?
Yes, lab-grown diamonds are more sustainable than mined ones. They require fewer natural resources, avoid environmental impacts such as deforestation and ecosystem disruption, and are not associated with armed conflict or poor working conditions (which can occur in some mining operations).
