Each piece has a unique scenario in which to express itself.
Here you will be able to know the concept, the history and the imaginary that accompanies each collection.
BEAUTY AND VIOLENCE
For the creation of this collection, the designer Ernesto Artillo was inspired by the bloody past of diamonds in the war in Sierra Leone as one of the most egregious examples, showing how it is possible that the experience between beauty and violence is an emotional choice and not a physical or environmental imposition.
Inspired by the bloody past of diamonds, with the Sierra Leone war as one of the most atrocious examples, the tension between the beauty and the violence is addressed.
A relationship attached to human becoming, which now finds a new opportunity of expression around diamonds with David Locco. The eco-friendly diamonds are not stained with blood; they do not take part in the dark inheritance brought by these stones, nor they predict future human or environmental negative consequences.
It’s possible to have diamonds without harming people or the environment. It’s possible that the experience between beauty and violence is an emotional choice and not a physical or environmental imposition.
Does beauty imply violence? We don’t want someone who doesn’t hurt us; we get pleasure from invading and being invaded; we ask with a diamond for a commitment to death; we joyously cry with tragedies; we anesthetize and open our skin to change our proportions… we are all St. Teresa before she was pierced by the arrow; we are the other cheek of composure trying to make things be worth it.
In this state between beauty and violence, we portray ourselves freer and more animal-like than ever. However, we are not animals; we are human. If we were also rightly human, this cathartic exercise between beauty and violence should always be a choice, not an imposition. We don’t want violence imposed in our bodies, nor in our landscapes; we don’t want to carry a ring that makes someone or something suffer. With this collection, I explore the relationship between beauty and violence, looking at the past of diamonds and presenting the experience of the dramatic enjoyment in a collection that is memory, question and drive at the same time.

The photographs that you will see next took place at the presentation event of Beauty and violence at the Alma Club in Madrid.
An exciting route through various rooms with human sculptures where each interpreted a passage from the history of art.

The French writer Arthur Rimbaud has inspired a collection that selects fragments of his work to be engraved by hand in the jewels. The feelings of the author of the nineteenth century are rescued to bring to our days a look of sensitivity with the environment.
As a tribute to the French poet, each of the pieces has one of his most significant verses and quotes engraved by hand, such as "Nadie es serio a los 17 años" (nobody is serious at 17), “El corazón robinsonea entre novelas” (the robinson heart between novels) or even his birth dates and death.
